Great stuff, I was at this show. Me and a friend went to the box office the week before to get tickets for the show on the 23rd which was nearly sold out and we were told the Kinks had just announced an extra date for a Christmas Eve special for the BBC who had been let down by another act at the last minute. We had tickets 3 rows from the front. As it was very short notice only a few tickets were sold, a hundred or two at most. When we arrived at the Theatre the Kinks were at the entrance doors giving out personally signed Xmas cards to everyone and the bar was free!. Ray Davies came out before the live broadcast and did a couple of requests as a bit of a warm up and chatted and told a few stories then Bob Harris from The Old Grey whistle test came on to introduce the band at the start of the show proper. The band played for an hour or so for the BBC and then came back after the broadcast for another few requests from the audience. A great night and still remembered 30 years later. Thanks Ray !

This is an excellent recording; the sound is great! It has a completely different set list than Another One For The Road.

The Kinks were at their live performance peak during the 70's. Shows were hilarious theater with great audience involvement. And brother Ray is still at it today.

Thanks very much Mocho - bluesmutt
